Western Sydney Set to Shop this Boxing Day

Release Date: 18/01/2016
The Sydney Business Chamber said the introduction of Boxing Day trading in Western Sydney is a late Christmas gift for shoppers in the West that will provide a welcome sales boost for local businesses.
The Western Sydney Director of the Sydney Business Chamber, David Borger said, “This year shoppers in Western Sydney can scoop up a bargain at the Boxing Day sales while local businesses will reap a financial windfall before the New Year.
“Western Sydney has spent years asking for the same shopping experience as Sydney City and this year we are incredibly excited to be celebrating the change.
“Shoppers no longer have to trek across the city to access a bargain, and employees can work locally.
“With the same rules now applicable to businesses right across the state, shoppers and businesses in Western Sydney now have an exciting opportunity to be a part of the iconic Boxing Day sales.
“The timing is right; Western Sydney is in the process of transforming as we have an increased demand for access to retail and entertainment and a growing population that deserves the same amenities currently available in Sydney City.
“This change to the trading laws is a cause the Chamber has championed because being allowed to trade is essentially promising jobs and business opportunities to Western Sydney.
“Retailers and shoppers in Western Sydney can rejoice this Christmas knowing Boxing Day trading starts today,” said Mr Borger.
