Sydney Airport continues to shine

Release Date: 6/03/2017
The Sydney Business Chamber says Sydney Airport’s improved quality of service ratings is a positive reflection on its policy of continuous improvement and proactive stakeholder engagement.
“It is good to see Sydney Airport recognised for its ongoing investment in its terminals and on ground transport enhancements,” said Patricia Forsythe, Executive Director of the Sydney Business Chamber.
“The airport has attracted strong growth in passenger numbers across a broad range of nationalities including a high volume of Chinese tourists visiting the East Coast.
“This highlights the significant role the airport plays in driving Sydney’s visitor economy,” Mrs Forsythe said.
Sydney Airport has invested $3.4 billion in airport improvements and plans to invest an additional $1.3 billion in the next five years.
“International airline agreements made in 2015 focused on improving service standards and included departures and emigration upgrades and the redevelopment of security and gate lounges at T1.
The ACCC Airport Monitoring Report 2015/16 released today has revealed the number of passengers at Sydney Airport grew 4.8 per cent to 41.1 million and both domestic and international passengers contributed to this increase.
The airport increased its overall quality of service rating, the report found.
“The continuing investment Sydney Airport is making in and around the airport reinforces Sydney as a competitive global city,” she said.
