New Project a Sign of the Strength of the Sydney Economy

Release Date: 11/12/2014
The Sydney Business Chamber has described the imminent approval of the Brookfield Wynyard Place development as another sign of the confidence business has in the Sydney economy.

The Executive Director of the Sydney Business Chamber said the proposed new commercial and retail development will create a modern refreshed entrance to Wynyard Station at George Street, which will complement the developments on the Western side of Wynyard.

Mrs Forsythe said, “This is a great win for Sydney and will be much valued by commuters who use the existing entrances to Wynyard Station.

“In addition to major new commercial tower on George Street, the development will provide new retail facilities replacing the antiquated mall that connects Wynyard to George Street.

“The combination of the new Wynyard Walk on the Western side and the NSW Government’s announced refurbishment of Wynyard Station means Sydney will have a modern world class station of which to be proud.

“The Wynyard Place development is a perfect complement to the development at Barangaroo,” said Mrs Forsythe.

Mrs Forsythe congratulated the NSW government on the progress to date to get the development approved.
