New High School will Further Energise Sydney Olympic Park

Release Date: 19/06/2017
The Sydney Business Chamber, Western Sydney says a new high school in Sydney Olympic Park will not only assist in addressing the area’s population growth but will also help activate the precinct.
David Borger, Director of the Sydney Business Chamber, Western Sydney, said, “Sydney Olympic Park is at the centre of a population boom with almost 20,000 residents expected to call the area home by 2041.
“The new 2,000-student high school, included in tomorrow’s NSW Budget, will relieve pressure from surrounding schools.
“It is clear that Sydney Olympic Park will soon become the city centre for new high-density suburbs such as Wentworth Point and Newington,” he said.
“Sydney Olympic Park has the potential to become an education hub over time and the school will join other educational centres in the precinct such as the Australian College of Physical Education, a Western Sydney University campus and Kirana College.
“It will help shape the precinct into a real place and create a sense of neighbourhood operating around the clock and not just when major sporting events take place.
“This is the next step in creating a vibrant and bustling Sydney Olympic Park.
“There could also be an opportunity for the school to specialise in areas that relate to sport and physical activity, making the most of Sydney Olympic Park’s world-class sporting facilities,” Mr Borger said.
