Hunter Business Chamber welcomes the Australia Unlimited brand to the region

Release Date: 14/09/2012
The Hunter Business Chamber will encourage local industry to use the nation brand, Australia Unlimited, to enrich the international reputation of the region and Australia. The Building Brand Australia program was launched in 2010 and is managed by Australia’s trade, investment and education promotion agency, Austrade.

Hunter Business Chamber CEO, Kristen Keegan, said the time is right to provide a brand solution that makes the Hunter more contemporary to a global audience. Using the Australia Unlimited brand and content channels is a chance to better position the Hunter’s industry capability internationally.

“While Australia regularly ranks highly in liveability, we are not so strongly associated with business, technology and innovation. We need to change this perception and the best way to do that is to showcase our credentials as a global contributor and global business partner.

“Every year we witness the region’s immense capability at the annual Hunter Business Awards. The Chamber will continue to work to increase the visibility of business to assist them in presenting a contemporary international message.

“Hunter Business Chamber encourages local businesses to share their stories and tell us what we should be promoting via Australia Unlimited promotional campaign to key target markets internationally,” Ms Keegan said.

Acting Executive Director of Australian Operations at Austrade, Nick Nichles, said that the Building Brand Australia Program is an opportunity to make significant breakthroughs in enhancing the international reputation of the local industry by identifying and promoting stories that best illustrate Hunter’s commercial, intellectual and creative credentials.

“A strong, positive nation brand encourages people to choose Australia when they want to do business, buy products or invest so another way business can get involved and take advantage is to adopt the Australia Unlimited brand and use it as part of their marketing collateral,” Mr Nichles said.

Ms Keegan added the Hunter Business Chamber is pleased to support the initiative and encourages businesses in the region to take advantage of this valuable opportunity that gives the Hunter a voice to promote the region to the world for business and investment.

Representatives of Australia Unlimited team will be visiting the Hunter Business Chamber this month to engage with the businesses in the region. The team will also be gathering information on industry capability in the region for their upcoming feature article on Hunter to be published in the Australia Unlimited content platforms.
