Report calls for decisive action to get business back on track

One in three businesses receiving JobKeeper have not planned for when payments stop and about half have indicated they will be unable to maintain current hours and head count after the Federal Government’s wage subsidy scheme ends, a Business NSW survey of more than 1,000 businesses reveals.

Apprentice subsidy extension a win for business

Hunter economy reeling from impact of COVID-19

Regional labour force statistics for May released today paint a devastating picture of the impact of COVID-19 in the Hunter region, with about 36,000 jobs estimated to have been lost in May and youth unemployment in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie area having skyrocketed to 26.8 per cent.
